Affectionately known as “Michael,” the one-ton bell was dedicated in memory of Charles Delafield in 1884 with the inscription, “Come, let us worship and fall down and kneel before the Lord our Maker.” The Angelus rings daily calling the seminary community to prayer.

Nashotah Chapter

The Chapter is an online resource that exists to serve Nashotah House alumni and constituents.

The name "Chapter" comes from the meeting following Evening Prayer that is held on campus at the House. It is the meeting that comes after a full day of prayer, worship, fellowship, study, and work. It’s an opportunity for the community to share announcements and updates. After students graduate, they no longer have the opportunity to participate in this chapter meeting. Unless, of course, they visit the campus.

The Chapter tries to recapture this meeting for our graduates who are fulfilling their call to ministry and serving across the globe. Simply put, The Chapter is what comes after graduation.

It isn’t possible to teach our students everything they will need to know in ministry. The Chapter seeks to provide continuing education and theological dialogue beyond the Commencement ceremony. We want to reflect the many voices within the tradition with a full range of topics that affect ministry.

And we want to invite you to contribute to the conversation. If you have a content idea or proposal, please contact us here.
