Too small a thing
When God has made us to be a light to the nations, how can we simply settle for keeping the lights on?
When it becomes the church’s clear and unmistakable purpose to be a light to the nations, when the glory of God expressed in the redeeming sacrifice of Christ embracing a harassed and helpless world – when this becomes a singular passion, keeping the lights on will matter, but it will become “too small a thing” and it will take care of itself. - Commencement Valediction, 2024
