Over the last six months, our world, country, and society have changed in unprecedented ways and with incredible speed. Through this change, our parishes have shut their physical plants and people have remained socially distant to try and stem the pandemic. At the same time, the need for effective parish governance has never been more acute. But how do our clergy and lay leaders manage through a crisis and plan for a hopeful future.
Join a group of rectors and lay leaders from across the church and around the country in conversation about parish governance in this moment. Our panel will discuss how they have worked together as church leaders during a time when we are distanced from each other because of the COVID-19 pandemic and how they plan to continue this work into the future. We will hear their stories about how, partnered together, they have worked to provide effective leadership through a health crisis, the racial reckoning resulting from George Floyd’s murder, and the ongoing economic anxiety affecting our communities.
During our time together, the panelists will cover how we shift from crisis management to bold leadership in the midst of uncertain times. Through conversation and engagement, we will seek to understand how we meet the challenges of the present and prepare for the future using adaptive leadership models and mutual encouragement.
