Living in a Time of Pandemic: Who is God calling us to be? What is God calling us to do?

As the pandemic of coronavirus and COVID-19 has unfolded around us, we face serious questions:

• How do we balance the need to reopen economies with the need to “flatten the curve” and protect the vulnerable?
• Given that both the economic shutdown and the virus have inflicted greater suffering on certain populations, and laid bare many layers of inequality, how can we work to remedy this?
• What are the “street level” realities people are facing in various contexts that need to be clearly stated?
• How does our faith in Jesus Christ inform our responses to these questions?
• Through all of this, who God is calling us to be, and what God is calling us to do?
To explore these and related issues, we have assembled a team of presenters known for their work in theology and theological ethics, to reflect theologically on the perils and promises we face.
