Rector, St. Paul’s Episcopal Church & St. Augustine of Canterbury Episcopal Church in St. Joseph & Benton Harbor, Michigan.
Description: Welcome to St. Paul’s Episcopal Church in St. Joseph and St. Augustine of Canterbury Episcopal Church in Benton Harbor, sister parishes located less than 3 miles apart in Southwest Michigan. Both cities are located along the shores of Lake Michigan and the St. Joseph River, which provides for breathtaking sunsets over the lake and year round activities. As distinct but spiritually connected congregations, we are seeking a full-time priest to serve both of our communities. The core principle of both parishes is to be the hands and feet of Christ in our families, neighborhoods, and worldwide community. We believe that the Holy Spirit is at work in our parishes and we strive to listen faithfully to how God is calling us to minister. While the pandemic disrupted settled patterns within our parishes, we emerged from it feeling hopeful about new possibilities. We are looking forward to a purposeful and meaningful present and future, serving our siblings in Christ wherever they may be. The rector who serves in this role will help us grow beyond traditional paradigms and assumptions of what it means to be The Church. We invite you to explore our parish websites and profiles, which will introduce you more fully to our two parishes and give you a strong sense of the values and ministries of each. While we have begun to realize a partnership that enables us to more fully embrace our Beloved Community, we are faithfully seeking a rector who will join us as we walk this journey together.
